Hello friends and
readers! I am Hannah, born and raised Michigander in my early twenties; attempting
to live my life to the fullest within the capabilities that God has given me.
I am married to a super hero, Ben, and we have a precious baby girl named
Brooke Elizabeth.

God has blessed me with
a crazy brain that is constantly opening up new ideas without necessarily
shutting old ideas (I think it's called being female). Because He created
me this way, I feel like I have so many things to talk about and writing has
always been a great avenue for me to organize my thoughts. Blogging will be a
great place for me to share how I feel about specific topics that interest me
the most. I am a writer for everything
in life. I am a list maker, journal starter, note taker, a plan setter, a
charter, and all around put your thoughts on paper kind of gal. I think
the best way to encourage people is through words.
The title of this blog is
"A Wife of Character & Coffee Mugs" for a reason; the title is a
title I wish to hold in my own life and help create in other women like me. This title originated from the best source a wife can look to for help –
the Bible. Proverbs 31:10-31 is a great
reference to women about how to live their lives and respect their
husbands. If I am honest, I have to
admit that marriage was not what I expected when I first started planning the
wedding. And, the first year of marriage
was probably one of the hardest years of my life. While everyone was using the stereotypical
“honeymoon stage” to describe marriage, I was crying silently. I couldn’t understand why my husband and I
weren’t connecting. It didn’t “feel”
like it was supposed to… or at least not what I wanted it to “feel” like in my
mind. I ran to the only thing I knew to
run to – God. I jumped into scripture,
read countless Christian blogs, books, and devotionals for wives, and dedicated
my time to figuring out what went wrong.
Everything seemed to become clear all at once. God was not in our marriage. It was a rocky start (because I am not
perfect) but I attempted to love and respect my husband unconditionally. I learned that the best way to love my
husband was by relearning to love God. I
was happy I came to this realization only after a year of struggling. With this blog, I hope to help other women
discover what I discovered about truly honoring your husband through loving
God. Also, coffee mugs are a tiny obsession of mine. Tiny is actually an understatement. My husband has actually told me that I must get rid of a mug if I buy a new one because we have no more room for mugs. A cute mug brings me joy! Sometimes it's the simple things in life.

Wedding Day - August 23, 2013
I don't want anyone to
feel excluded with the word “Wife” in the name. Even though most of my
heart will be calling to the young mothers and/or wives out there, this blog is
for ALL my ladies out there.
Not only have I
dedicated my life to my husband, but also to my child. Being a mother is the greatest job in the
world and I am so thankful I am able to work it full time. I know that there are many moms out there
that are in all different circumstances in life. Even though there is not a “MOM 101” class, I
have a degree in Early Childhood education, alongside a degree of writing &
English literature that is still in-progress, and five years of early childhood
care from ages 6 weeks to 10 years old.
From what I’ve learned in college, field, and daily experiences with my
baby girl, I want to offer this blog as an avenue for women to look for
activities to do with their children that are fun, educational, and
developmentally friendly for all different ages.

Brooke's one week family photo session
This blog is going to be
an expression of my loves and hobbies. Besides being a wife and mother, I
truly love health and beauty. Even
though I don’t think your life should surround your appearance, I believe
taking care of yourself is very important; 1) if you feel good inside &
out, you will overall have a better attitude about your daily life, and 2) God
says in 1 Corinthians that our bodies are temples and should be treated as
such. I am always looking for fun new
looks with hair, makeup, and fashion.
Trying out new recipes, products, and workouts is something I find very
enjoyable. I think women are blessed
with the ability to connect and communicate with each other, so this blog is
going to be just that – a way for me to connect and communicate my life
experiences, tests, trials, joys, and successes!

Apple orchard - Fall 2014
I hope you enjoyed my
little summary of who I am and where in life I think God has placed me.
And I hope you enjoy my future posts. Have any questions or just
want to connect, feel free to comment on a post or email me:

Thanks for stopping by!
